Junior WordPress Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated WordPress Developer. Reporting to the Director of Digital Operations, you will be a key player in shaping MDG's technological future. At MDG, we are revolutionizing the multi-location marketing landscape with our proprietary digital product. You'll contribute to building high-availability, scalable, and performant solutions that empower multi-location organizations to effectively reach and engage their target audiences. Your work will directly impact the success of our clients and shape the future of multi-location marketing.

MDG follows a hybrid work model of Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our Boca Raton office. Our scheduled work hours are 9a-6p.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 2-5 years of experience in front-end or WordPress development

• Develops and maintains WordPress websites using custom themes and plugins

• Translates design mockups into responsive HTML/CSS/JS

• Collaborates with team members to deliver development work on time

• Communicates status updates and challenges to project stakeholders

• Ensures all work meets accessibility and cross-browser compatibility standards

• Actively participates in code reviews and team discussions

• Follows internal standards and best practices

• Eager to learn new technologies and improve coding skills

• Provides support for troubleshooting and resolving bugs

• Manages multiple tasks with attention to detail and timelines

• Open to feedback and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Proficiency in WordPress theme and plugin development

• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Experience with page builders like Elementor or Gutenberg is a plus

• Basic understanding of PHP and MySQL

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Understanding of responsive design principles

• Some experience in SEO best practices and performance optimization

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to take initiative and contribute ideas for improvements

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Experience with Laravel and/or NuxtJS is a huge plus
