Lead Bartender / Working FOH Manager

Hunters amp; Gatherers is looking for a strong, hands-on Lead Bartender / Working FOH Manager to join our team.

This is not a clipboard-only management position. We are looking for someone who can lead from the floor, work behind the bar, support service, guide the team, and help keep the guest experience consistent every single day.

The right person has a strong food background, heavy craft cocktail knowledge, solid wine knowledge, and a true understanding of hospitality. You should be comfortable talking food, wine, cocktails, steps of service, guest recovery, cleanliness, side work, and team accountability.

This position will be a mix of bartending and FOH leadership. You will work approximately 3 days a week as a bartender and 2 days a week as a FOH float / working manager . Hunters amp; Gatherers is closed 2 days every week , so the schedule allows for consistency while still requiring strong availability on the days we are open.

What we are looking for:

Someone who is confident behind the bar, comfortable leading a team, and not afraid to jump in wherever needed. This person should be able to support servers, expo, host, bar, service flow, guest issues, reservations, closing standards, and overall FOH execution.

You should have a strong understanding of:

Craft cocktails
Wine service and wine pairing basics
Food and menu knowledge
Upscale casual service
Team leadership
Guest experience
Side work and closing standards
Training and accountability
Toast or similar POS systems
Inventory, ordering, and bar organization

Responsibilities include:

Working scheduled bar shifts and leading by example
Floating during service to support FOH operations
Helping train bartenders, servers, hosts, and support staff
Maintaining cocktail, wine, and menu knowledge across the team
Supporting daily pre-shift notes and service expectations
Making sure guests are greeted, served, and cared for properly
Assisting with guest concerns and table touches
Keeping the bar clean, stocked, organized, and service-ready
Helping with bar inventory, ordering notes, prep needs, and pars
Holding the team accountable to side work, cleanliness, and closing duties
Supporting communication between FOH, BOH, and leadership
Helping create a calm, professional, service-focused floor

The ideal candidate:

Has strong bartending experience
Has craft cocktail and wine knowledge
Has restaurant leadership or lead bartender experience
Has a strong food background and enjoys learning the menu
Can work nights and weekends
Has a positive, professional attitude
Can give direction without creating drama
Understands urgency, cleanliness, and guest care
Is comfortable being hands-on every shift
Takes ownership and follows through
