SQL Data Engineer – HYBRID (JACKSONVILLE, FL)
ARC Group has an immediate opportunity for a SQL Data Engineer! This is starting out as a 12 month contract position with potential to extend longer or possibly convert to FTE. The position is hybrid, with a couple of days per week onsite in Jacksonville, FL. SQL Data Engineer – Onsite (JACKSONVILLE, FL)
Ideal Candidate Profile
A Senior Data Engineer/Developer with:
Advanced SQL & Data Warehousing Expertise

Job Description:

Must-Have Skills:

• Writing highly complex SQL queries (joins across large fact tables, window functions, performance tuning)
• Designing and optimizing Star/Snowflake schemas
• Experience with:
• IBM Netezza (Preferred)
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Oracle Database
• Handling large-scale batch processing (10TB+ datasets preferred)
• Nightly claims or transactional processing pipelines
• Indexing, partitioning, query performance optimization

Core Skills:

Writing complex SQL queries for ELT/ETL pipelines in Netezza (preferred) or similar RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle).
Designing optimized data models (fact/dimension tables) for analytics.
Handling high-volume batch jobs (e.g., nightly claims processing).
Tools: Netezza, SQL Server, SSIS, or similar ETL tools.
Unix/Linux Scripting for Automation.
Automating data pipelines (e.g., cron jobs, error handling, file transfers).
Example: “Scripted daily data ingestion for 10TB+ healthcare datasets using Bash.”
Stored Procedure Development.
Building reusable, efficient stored procedures for data transformations and batch workflows.
Example: “Created stored procedures to automate provider data aggregation, reducing runtime by 30%.”
MVC Code Integration.
Collaborating with application teams to connect .NET MVC applications (C#, ASP.NET) to the data warehouse via APIs or direct SQL calls.

Example: “Integrated a member analytics dashboard (built in ASP.NET MVC) with Netezza via stored procedures.”

Healthcare Data Experience (Nice-to-Have)
Familiarity with healthcare datasets (claims, EHR, HL7) and compliance (HIPAA, PHI).
Understanding of healthcare analytics use cases (risk modeling, population health).
