The role you'll contribute:

The Payroll Senior Processor is responsible for loading the payroll data, calculating and confirming the bi-weekly payroll in addition to a variety of payroll transactions. Payroll Senior Processors are to be cross-trained to cover any similar position that may require coverage with, or without, notice, including performing periodic tax and fiscal year-end reporting activities. The Payroll Senior Processor

actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value that you bring to the team:

• Process payroll from beginning to end, which includes but is not limited to, loading the payroll data, calculating and confirming the bi-weekly payroll and then posting to the general ledger.

• Reconciles and resolves all system and data errors associated with the processing of payroll by exercising critical thinking and independent judgment.

• Acts as consultant to the data entry and customer service activities/questions of the payroll processors on a day-to-day basis.

• Exercises judgment to determine if an off-cycle payroll needs to be processed or an urgent check should be issued. If determined that an off-cycle payroll run is necessary, Senior Processor will process from beginning to end (same as on-cycle payroll).

• Tracks and reports internal payroll metrics for service level agreements with facilities.

• Engages in customer service activities by answering questions on the phone and responding to employee cases created by Employee Services help desk.

• Assists the Senior Tax Accountant with monthly reconciliation questions by researching payroll information as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance or 5 years of equivalent experience

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience

Preferred qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) preferred

• Experience in PeopleSoft preferred

• CPP or FPC preferred
