The Work You Will Do:

Passenger Operations Specialist IV/Public Transportation

Contract Manager for Transit Consultant Contracts that perform Inventory Inspections of Park and Ride Lots and the District Six Transit Vehicle Inventory Report. Additionally, Manage the South Florida Commuter Services Consultant Contract. Manage the Modal Development Office Monthly Business Plan and assist Modal Development Office activities as needed.

Transportation Development Division/District Six Headquarters Office, 1000 NW 111th Avenue, Sweetwater, FL 33172.

Anticipated Pay:

$2,941.92/biweekly

A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,976.00 will be added to the annual salary.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Manage the District Six Commuter Assistance Program. Provides technical assistance, consultative services and direction for development, implementation, evaluation and expansion of programs of transportation service in public agencies and local governments. Review and approve the work plan and expenditures of the South Florida Commuter Services program. Provide technical assistance in areas such as Transportation Demand Management, Vanpooling, Transportation Management Association formation and marketing as stated in the Commuter Assistance Program – 725-030-008-g. Coordination with District Four with South Florida Commuter Services regional activities.

Develops and monitors compliance policies and procedures for the administration of federal and state transit grant funds . Manage compliance of transit agencies and not-for-profit agencies with Federal and State transit system safety rules and regulations and aids transit agencies to comply with rules and regulations with consultant resources. Provide technical assistance in areas such as Rule Chapter 14-90 FAC, FTA Section 5310, Florida State Vehicle Inspections Procedure (725-030-025) and the Florida State Park and Ride Lot Procedure (725-030-002).

Manage the Modal Development Office Business Plan and establish long-range objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve these objectives, coordinate needs information for Business Plan from Modal Office and other needed resources, utilize tracking reports, update Business Plan monthly by deadline and update Business Plan reporting elements annually.

Assist Modal Development Office by attending Committees, meetings, research and prepare correspondence, invoice processing, Public Transportation Grant Agreement executions, project application reviews and other assigned activities.

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of: Knowledge of Transportation and Transit Planning; Knowledge of Transportation Planning Process and Regulations; Knowledge of and skilled at developing and implementing Transportation Program; Knowledgeable of and skilled at analyzing data information; Knowledgeable of and skilled at organizing, planning, and prioritizing.

Skills in: Skilled at understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; Skilled at using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches.

Ability to: Ability to find information and identify essential information; Skilled at using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. Minimum Qualifications:

Six (6) years of professional or nonprofessional experience (including internships or co-ops) in the field of transportation, planning, public administration, engineering, or logistics to which the position is assigned. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four (4) years of the required experience. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for six (6) years of the required experience.

OTHER JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS: During a declared emergency event, the incumbent will be required to assist the District as needed.
