Job Summary:
The Part-Time Cashier is responsible for, but not limited to, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining efficient, accurate point-of-sale transactions. This role supports overall store operations by ensuring smooth front-end processes, assisting customers with purchases and inquiries, and representing the Mallards brand with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
- Assist with bagging, tagging, restocking, and light merchandising as needed.
- Balance cash drawer and follow all cash control procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Cashier Supervisor and management regarding customer concerns or issues.
- Support store promotions, events, and sales initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including security and safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail or cashier experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail oriented.
- Basic math and computer skills required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs occasionally.
- Ability to bend, reach, and handle routine front-end duties.
Schedule:
Part-time position; flexibility required to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
