Policy Administration Specialist – Life & Health Insurance.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Policy Administration Specialist to support the daily operations of our Life & Health insurance administration platform. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate policy processing, collaborating with our software development team to enhance system functionality, and participating in system testing and implementation efforts.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of life and health insurance operations and enjoys working at the intersection of insurance business processes and technology . This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth, including involvement in system projects, process improvements, and future project management responsibilities .
Must be able to work on-site in our Lake Mary, Florida office . This is not a remote position.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support policy administration activities including new business, policy changes, reinstatements, billing, and other policy servicing functions.
- Work closely with the company’s software development/programming team to review system enhancements, identify operational needs, and ensure accurate implementation of business requirements.
- Participate in system testing (UAT) for new features, updates, and regulatory changes within the policy administration platform.
- Document business requirements, operational workflows, and system functionality to support development and future improvements.
- Assist in identifying process improvements and system efficiencies within policy administration operations.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve operational or system-related issues affecting policy processing.
- Support implementation of new insurance products, forms, and system features.
- Communicate effectively between business users and technical teams to ensure successful system enhancements.
- Participate in special projects and system initiatives with opportunities to grow into project coordination and project management roles .
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in life and health insurance policy administration or insurance operations.
- Experience working with insurance policy administration systems .
- Experience collaborating with software development teams or IT departments on system enhancements or testing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex policy data accurately.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear operational or system requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Progress toward or completion of FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) or other industry designations.
- Experience participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system releases or enhancements.
- Exposure to insurance system implementations or operational projects.
- Interest in developing project management and operational leadership skills .
