CNC Programmer
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with a background in boat or marine manufacturing to support the creation and production of precision components. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving CNC cutting programs and assisting with assembly processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality in production.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and update CNC cutting programs for boat components and assemblies.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to translate designs into efficient manufacturing processes.
- Program and optimize CNC routers used for plastics, composites, and other marine materials.
- Utilize molding templates and reference fixtures to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability.
- Assist with the development and improvement of assembly processes and production workflows.
- Serve as a liaison between engineering and shop technicians to troubleshoot production issues and implement improvements.
- Verify program accuracy through testing, adjustments, and on-the-floor collaboration with operators.
- Maintain organization and inventory of templates, tooling, and related production materials.
- Ensure CNC programs remain current with engineering revisions and product updates.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a CNC Programmer in boat, marine, or composite manufacturing.
- Proficiency with Fusion 360 and/or SolidWorks for CAD/CAM programming.
- Hands-on experience with CNC routers and machining plastics and composite materials.
- Familiarity with ShopSabre CNC systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fixtures, and templates used in composite boat production.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff.
- Basic inventory management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb in and out of boats and move around a manufacturing floor.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift materials as required in a production environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with marine molds, tooling, or template-based production.
- Troubleshooting and optimizing CNC toolpaths for efficiency and material usage.
- Familiarity with production documentation and revision control.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to composite materials, machining equipment, and assembly operations.
