A day in the life

You arrive, review the scope, load the right materials, and set safety expectations with your crew. On site, you validate measurements, coordinate with helpers, and execute the install: cutting and threading copper or PVC, brazing as needed, pulling high- and low-voltage wiring, setting equipment, commissioning systems, and walking the homeowner through operation and maintenance. You wrap by cleaning the workspace, organizing the vehicle, and coaching your team on what went well and what can improve.

What you’ll lead and do

• Direct residential HVAC system replacements, upgrades, and new installations to exacting standards.
• Cut, thread, and connect copper/PVC piping; perform high/low-voltage wiring and system start-up.
• Coach and develop Install Helpers both in the field and in the shop.
• Deliver clear, respectful communication to homeowners and resolve on-site questions.
• Safely lift, bend, and move equipment and materials exceeding 50 lbs as needed.
• Keep parts, tools, and your vehicle neat, organized, and ready for the next call.
• Work at heights, in attics and tight spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Follow equipment codes, Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements, and company service standards.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

What you bring

• 2–5+ years of hands-on residential HVAC experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with at least three years of driving history.
• EPA certification.
• Advanced diagnostic skills and sound judgment on complex installs.
• Proactive, enthusiastic approach and a pride-in-quality mindset.
• Customer-first communication and professionalism at every level.
• Adaptability and collaboration in fast-moving environments.

Physical capabilities

• Routinely lift 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Climb ladders; access attics and crawlspaces; navigate tight areas; drive; push/pull/carry; use hand tools and perform detailed work.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.
• Stand, walk, sit; talk and hear in person and by phone.
• Use hands to handle tools and materials; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Operate in extreme heat or cold and in adverse weather (wind, rain, ice, or snow).
