Medical Malpractice Attorney
Job Summary
A respected medical malpractice defense law firm in Winter Park, FL is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its growing litigation team. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a litigation attorney who wants meaningful case responsibility, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to build a long-term career within a collaborative legal environment. This role provides exposure to complex civil litigation matters, direct involvement in strategy and case management, and the opportunity to work with a stable, highly regarded legal practice that values high-quality advocacy, attention to detail, and professional growth. Key Responsibilities - Manage civil litigation and medical malpractice defense matters from inception through resolution.- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other case-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare well-supported written analysis for case strategy.
- Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, and participate in court proceedings.
- Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and internal team members regarding case status and strategy.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys while independently handling assigned case responsibilities. Compensation and Benefits - Salary range of $100,000 to $150,000+ annually, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage assigned litigation files, deadlines, discovery, and case preparation.- Draft persuasive legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and research memoranda.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
- Support case strategy through strong analysis, organization, and collaboration. - 3 to 5 years of litigation experience preferred, with consideration for attorneys who bring additional relevant litigation experience.
- Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Civil litigation experience required, preferably in medical malpractice defense or a related defense practice area.
- Strong legal research, legal writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience taking depositions and attending court hearings.
- Ability to independently manage case responsibilities while working effectively within a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Writing sample required. Preferred Qualifications - Medical malpractice defense experience.
- Prior experience handling complex civil litigation matters.
- Experience working with expert witnesses, medical records, and healthcare-related claims.
- Demonstrated interest in building a long-term litigation career within a collaborative defense practice.
