Nuclear Planner Scheduler

Role summary / purpose
The Nuclear Planner Scheduler is a critical role responsible for the strategic planning, sequencing, scheduling, and documentation of projects and operational work within a nuclear power plant. This role interfaces with various plant departments to ensure the timely completion of tasks while adhering to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and operational schedules. Employees in this role will attend site, fleet, outage, and other meetings as required, representing the department.
Key responsibilities
- Plans and organizes project activities for plant equipment and systems
- Creates clear and concise work instructions that are sequenced in a logical, efficient manner
- Ensures work instructions are performed in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Reviews and interprets Engineering Change implementation requirements
- Conducts field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective issues, modifications, and surveillance activities
- Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and support departments on work instruction requirements
- Supports required testing of updates to new and existing planning and scheduling applications
- Supports all nuclear sites as required
- Takes on lead planner role as required
- Provides mentorship to junior planner schedulers
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements - education & experience
- 6 to 10 years of technical experience, preferably in a nuclear facility in Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations
- Associate's degree in Engineering or related physical science preferred
- Prior relevant military experience may be considered as equivalent
- Completion of a Maintenance Trade apprenticeship program preferred
Required skills
- Independently leads maintenance scheduling and trend analysis activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online scheduling applications
- Knowledge of work management processes
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to develop computerized critical-path schedules
- Root cause analysis capabilities
