Job Title: Material Movement Associate - I
Location: Merritt Island, FL
Type: Contract (3-Month Assignment with Possibility of Extension)
Compensation: $28 per hour
Work Environment: On-Site
Shift Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM (B Shift)
Overview: System One is seeking a dedicated Material Movement Associate to support a prominent aerospace client based in Merritt Island, FL. The ideal candidate will possess experience in material handling, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and forklift operation to ensure seamless warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support process improvement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks and escalating issues to prevent downstream defects. Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Safely operate heavy machinery, including forklifts, electronic pallet jacks (EPJs), reach trucks, and turret trucks, following all safety and maintenance protocols.
- Receive, unload, and visually inspect incoming shipments for compliance with SOP standards.
- Conduct quality control checks and process parts according to established procedures.
- Accurately document receipts and work orders within designated systems for tracking and closure.
- Maintain inventory data, navigating multiple systems and modules for proper record-keeping.
- Determine appropriate packaging methods and ensure correct packaging of parts and materials throughout workflow processes.
- Sort, stage, move, and secure packages and crates to prevent loss or damage.
- Label and identify parts consistently, adhering to SOPs to maintain traceability.
- Properly store materials and perform inventory audits in accordance with established storage procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven forklift operation experience; training will be provided.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Experience in fulfillment activities such as inventory counting, receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, packing, and shipping.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and accurate data entry.
- Ability to interpret and derive inventory requirements from Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Strong attention to detail for quality inspections and record accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to support root cause analysis efforts.
- Capable of working safely in a construction-site environment with potential hazards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DBIDS Badge.
- Willingness to work on-site during the designated B shift, Monday through Thursday, from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
