Elite Performance Coach

Crossover
Pembroke Pines, FL

You believe that refusing to lower standards is the most compassionate act you can offer a student. You've achieved or competed at a level most people only observe from a distance: elite-level athletics, graduation with distinction from a top-tier institution, employment at a highly selective firm, or launching a venture from the ground up. Now imagine channeling that same intensity into a classroom of K-12 students who've never encountered someone with your credentials willing to push them toward standards they didn't believe they could meet. If the idea of holding students to elite expectations feels unkind, this isn't for you.

Alpha leverages AI-driven 1-on-1 instruction to enable students to complete core academics in roughly two hours daily. The remainder of their day is dedicated to life skills, self-directed projects, and meaningful personal development. At Alpha's most rigorous campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor whose personal track record establishes the benchmark: someone capable of reading a room, setting expectations, and guiding them through resistance, distraction, and doubt.

Your role isn't instructional. AI delivers the academic content. Your responsibility is to motivate, coach, and enforce the same exacting standards you've applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time involves direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions that identify obstacles and establish ambitious targets. Another forty percent is spent facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement. The final twenty percent is devoted to morning kickoffs that set a cultural tone where mediocrity is unacceptable.

The trajectory here is depth, not upward mobility. You begin by mastering Alpha's methodology and earning student trust. Within months, you become the person they allow to push them beyond perceived limits. The payoff isn't a title change. It's the same cohort of students, year after year, maturing with you as their anchor. It's witnessing a student who avoided eye contact in September deliver a confident presentation to a room of adults in May.

This position remains student-facing. Students are the purpose, not a platform for career advancement. If your motivation to leave your current role is the mission rather than resume enhancement, apply now.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions leveraging Coachbot analytics and student performance data to identify obstacles, establish ambitious targets, and enforce accountability for execution
  • Facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery by drawing on credible narratives from your own elite background, then validating mastery through Alpha's Test2Pass framework
  • Establishing cultural expectations each morning via focused kickoffs that reinforce high-performance norms across the campus
  • Monitoring student progress in real time and adapting coaching approaches based on data rather than intuition
  • Cultivating trusted mentor relationships with students and families through high standards, consistency, and documented motivation strategies

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering lessons, creating curriculum, or grading work — Alpha's AI-powered academic platform manages instruction; you manage motivation
  • Presenting to a classroom of 30 students (your work is high-touch coaching in small groups, not whole-class instruction)
  • Supervising other staff or advancing through an administrative hierarchy (this role centers on direct student impact, not organizational management)
  • Attending faculty meetings or managing school bureaucracy (your time remains concentrated on students)
  • Compromising standards to meet metrics (if a student achieved 99%, your responsibility is to understand what prevented 100%)

Elite Performance Coach Key Responsibilities

Drive exceptional student motivation, growth, and life-skill mastery at Alpha's highest-expectation campuses.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least one instance of exceptional achievement in a highly selective, globally recognized domain (examples: national or international competition medals, top-tier university with distinction, highly selective firm or fellowship, elite performing arts institution, or founding and scaling a successful venture)
  • At least 3 years of experience in student coaching, youth mentoring, athletic coaching, or leadership roles where you measurably raised others' performance
  • Willing to work in-person at an Alpha campus in Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boston, MA; or New York City, NY (relocation support provided)
  • Legal right to work in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in elite competitive athletics (varsity D1, national team, or professional level) with experience coaching or mentoring younger athletes
  • Experience in high-accountability environments like management consulting, investment banking, or military leadership
  • Track record of youth development through mentoring in non-academic settings (community organizations, after-school programs, sports camps)
  • Comfort presenting to and building trust with high-expectation families paying premium private school tuition
