Job Description

Join a leading organization in advanced defense technologies specializing in guidance, navigation, and control systems for aircraft and munitions. This full-time, onsite role in Niceville, FL, offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems engineering for real-world defense applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working on real-time systems.

• Contribute directly to development efforts in C++, C#, Python, and Java.

• Oversee multiple programs simultaneously, ensuring no siloed projects.

• Drive rapid prototyping and fast-paced development cycles.

• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure product integration.

• Utilize Microsoft Azure DevOps for CI/CD and project tracking.

• Delegate effectively while staying hands-on with technical challenges.

• Support growth initiatives, especially in the expanding munitions sector.

• Ensure all work adds value, with no filler or unnecessary bureaucracy.

Essential Skills

• Eligibility for a security clearance.

• 15-18 years of experience in software engineering, including leadership roles.

• Strong background in real-time systems, Linux, RTOS, and VxWorks.

• Experience in defense-related software for weapons, munitions, and navigation.

• Proficiency in C++, C#, Python, and Java.

• Technical leadership skills in managing and mentoring software teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with DOD and Secret Clearance.

• Familiarity with web-based applications, MVC, and ASP.NET.

• Candidates with experience in rapid prototyping from agile companies are highly desirable.

Work Environment

The work environment is located in Niceville, FL, with a very casual dress code including shorts and jeans. The role requires full-time onsite work with core hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm. The company culture is family-style with minimal bureaucracy, focused on contributing to fast-moving, high-impact work in a stable organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NICEVILLE, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
