IT Technician Position Summary

The Information Technology Technician Level 1 is responsible for computer repair, wire and cable installation, user and desktop support (hardware and software), helpdesk, and data management. Updates supervisor on status of projects and technical issues. Exercises judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly, and determines when to refer problems to the supervisor or the next level of support.

IT Technician Essential Job Functions

• Installing and configuring workstation hardware and operating systems. Installing workstation software applications. Installing updated versions of software applications on workstations.
• Installing security software, such as antivirus, anti-spam, etc.
• Installing phones, printers, scanners, X rays machine, U/S machines, ekg machines, spirometry machines, access control system and other office equipment.
• Installing and Repairing Ethernet and fiber optic cabling.
• Installing network equipment including, access points, cameras, tablets, cloud keys, Ethernet switches and routers such as Sonicwall routers and Unifi Security Gateway.
• Providing timely technical support across the company over the phone and person.

Required Education and Experience

• Well-developed communication skills and familiarity with Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).
• Firewall and VPN concepts familiarity.
• Highschool and/or technical school education
• One (1) to Three (3) years of help desk support and installing hardware experience

Preferred Education and Experience

• An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• An IT Certification from accredited institution preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
