Overview
Our client is a leading energy company seeking an experienced Principal Scrum Master to guide cross-functional teams through complex enterprise initiatives. This senior-level role requires 15+ years of experience and combines deep expertise in Scrum frameworks with practical knowledge of traditional project management approaches. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic advisor, coaching teams and leadership on agile transformation and hybrid delivery models.
Key Responsibilities
- Agile Leadership: Facilitate Scrum ceremonies for multiple high-performing teams including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews
- Coaching & Mentoring: Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles and mindset transformation
- Enterprise Scaling: Champion agile adoption and scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale) for enterprise-wide initiatives
- Hybrid Methodology: Assess project complexity and organizational readiness to determine optimal delivery approaches combining Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Strategic Advisory: Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement practices and methodology optimization
Requirements
- 15+ years of IT Project/Program Management experience
- Advanced Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM II, or equivalent)
- Proven experience with enterprise agile scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale)
- Strong background in both Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies
- Experience coaching and mentoring teams in agile transformation
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
- Energy or utilities industry experience preferred
