Requirements:

#Role Summary

*In this role, you will perform repair and overhaul work on aircraft structural components and flight controls. You will support maintenance, modification, and repair operations that directly contribute to military aircraft readiness and operational reliability. Your work will help ensure the highest standards of airworthiness, quality, and safety in support of global defense programs.

#Education & Job Requirements

* Must have a high school diploma or GED.
* Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an aircraft mechanic (commercial, defense, or equivalent trade apprenticeship).
* Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
* Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Must be able to drill to a close tolerance within .003 inches and perform precision measurements within .003 inches.
* Must be eligible to work as a U.S. person for export compliance purposes.
* Must successfully complete required training prior to performing work (OJT or classroom).

#Preferred Skills

* You will have strong knowledge of aircraft fasteners, materials, and tooling applications.
* You will have experience performing structural repairs and modifications on military or commercial aircraft.
* You will have the ability to work from blueprints and technical manuals to perform complex structural work.
* You will have familiarity with corrosion prevention, sealing, and finishing processes.
* You will have a commitment to first-time quality and a proactive approach to workplace safety.

#Job Duties / Functions

* You will be performing repair and overhaul work on F/A-18 EF flight controls and related structures.
* You will be identifying and selecting the correct fasteners, including rivets, blind rivets, hi-locks, bolts, and lock bolts.
* You will be reading and interpreting blueprints, processing data sheets, and maintenance instruction manuals.
* You will be performing cleaning, corrosion prevention, and surface preparation tasks such as polishing or dry washing.
* You will be removing and reinstalling access panels, fairings, and damaged screws without harming surrounding structures.
* You will be applying aircraft finishes, including primer, paint, Alodine, and sealants.
* You will be fabricating, locating, trimming, drilling, reaming, and assembling metallic and composite components.
* You will be using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, trimic, and bore gauges for precision work.
* You will be performing both major and minor modifications to aircraft skins and other structural components.
* You will be properly utilizing assembly jigs, repair equipment, and fixed tooling to build components to blueprint requirements.
* You will be ensuring maintenance documentation, technical logbooks, and work packages are accurately completed and submitted on time.
* You will be adhering to safety regulations, reporting incidents, and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
* You will be maintaining an organized, clean work area while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
* You will be collaborating with leads, program managers, and senior technicians to achieve on-time delivery and production quality goals.
