Bakery Front of House Team Member

We are looking for a dependable, friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Front of House Team Member to join our bakery team!

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, can multitask in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping the bakery clean, organized, stocked, and welcoming. This position plays an important role in creating an exceptional experience for every customer who walks through our doors.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with bakery selections and questions.
• Accurately take, prepare, package, and complete customer orders.
• Operate the POS/register and accurately process cash and electronic payments.
• Answer phones and assist with customer inquiries and orders as assigned.
• Maintain attractive, clean, and properly stocked bakery display cases.
• Monitor bakery products for freshness, quality, and presentation .
• Restock bakery products, packaging, beverages, retail items, and Front of House supplies as needed.
• Prepare sandwiches and other approved food items according to bakery procedures.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling requirements.
• Follow daily opening, closing, cleaning, and stocking checklists.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining, counter, register, display, and customer-service area.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties, including wiping, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and rotating inventory as directed.
• Communicate effectively with bakery production staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and promptly.
• Promote bakery products and confidently make recommendations to customers.
• Upsell and suggest additional products based on customer needs and preferences.
• Assist team members during busy periods and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, bakery, café, retail, or customer-service experience preferred .
• Grill or sandwich-preparation experience is a plus.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy periods.
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to follow instructions, checklists, recipes, and established procedures.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable recommending and upselling bakery products .
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Food Safety/Food Handler Certification preferred.
