Kitchen Helper for Seminole Elder Services

We're looking for a Kitchen Helper with prior food prep experience that loves interacting with Seniors and those with disabilities!

Typically the work schedule is Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch. This is based at the Brighton Reservation. Starting at $18 per hour.

Note that Elder Services does run the community hurricane shelter for the Seminole Tribe so it is required to be able to work the shelters overnight for the duration of the storm.

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for preparing food to be cooked and plated by a head cook, chef, line cook or grill cook within the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Elder Services Department. The individual efficiently processes and completes needed steps in the food prep area. The incumbent ensures all prep items are prepared and stored to specifications. Cleans work area and other kitchen areas as defined by the Supervisors.

Qualifications / Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of six (6) months of experience working in food service line settings or related field is required. Must possess an understanding and caring attitude toward senior citizens. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
