Overview

AGIS is seeking a Node.js-focused Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale real-world systems used in healthcare environments.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy designing APIs, integrating services, and building production-grade systems that must be reliable, secure, and compliant.

You’ll serve as a technical bridge between product teams, clients, and engineering — turning complex healthcare workflows into intelligent, scalable software.

What You’ll Build

Production AI workflows using LLMs, OCR, document processing, STT/TTS, and classification systems

Node.js services and APIs powering healthcare automation and data workflows

Secure, compliant systems designed for real-world healthcare usage

Build Engineering class UI components to support operational workflows to be embellished by UX specialists

Responsibilities

Design and build Node.js backend services and REST/event-driven APIs

Integrate AI services into production systems and refine prompt workflows

Ensure performance, security, and reliability in healthcare-grade environments

Collaborate with product teams and clients to translate real-world needs into technical solutions

Participate in testing, code reviews, and documentation

Requirements

3–6+ years building production applications

Strong Node.js experience (Express, API design, async workflows, event-driven systems)

Deep understanding of JSON based data structures

Effective front end experience with Javascript/Jquery, and some knowledge of CSS/Bootstrap/Foundation

Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

Comfort working across multiple services and evolving systems

Nice to Have

Experience in healthcare, compliance, or regulated environments

Experience with LLMs at the API level – writing basic prompts and troubleshooting invalid responses

Automated testing experience (Jest, Cypress, Playwright)

Authentication & authorization (JWT, RBAC) ?? What is this

Monitoring, logging, and debugging production systems
