- Conduct mock assessments and provide recommendations for adult & athlete improvement.
- Attend lectures, workshops, and meetings throughout the semester.
- Learn and apply proper lifting techniques, safety protocols, and injury prevention strategies.
- Engage in daily facility operations, including equipment maintenance, cleaning, and enforcing rules and regulations.
- Participate in planning and executing special events and projects.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and team coaches.
- Assist in business and front desk operations as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and athlete progress. Requirements: - Passion for strength and conditioning and a desire to work with both athletes and adults.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a plus.
- Ability to commit 20-40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
- Basic knowledge of exercise physiology and strength training principles.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced coaches and supervisors.
- Current CPR/AED certification is preferred. What You Will Gain: - Practical experience working with athletes and adults in a private-sector fitness setting.
- Knowledge of program design principles and periodization models.
- Skills in conducting athlete assessments and addressing special situations like injuries and nutrition.
- Exposure to sports psychology and professional development opportunities.
- Hands-on experience in planning and executing training sessions and special events.
- Comprehensive understanding of the professional world of strength and conditioning coaching.
- Credit hours in your major for your University.
