Heavy Equipment Loader Operator - Horticulture Raking & Windrowing

We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Loader Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating loaders and related heavy equipment to manage horticultural materials, including raking and forming windrows for composting or processing. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in outdoor environments, value safety, and take pride in maintaining high standards of site operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Rake and form horticultural waste into windrows according to site specifications
• Remove roots and organic debris from the ground to a depth of up to one foot below the surface
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and promptly report any mechanical issues
• Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
• Assist with general site duties and support team operations as needed

Qualifications

• Experience operating loaders or similar heavy machinery (such as excavators or end dumps)
• Familiarity with horticultural materials and windrowing techniques
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and ability to perform tasks in varying weather conditions
• Preferred: Experience in composting or agricultural operations
• Preferred: Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment troubleshooting
