Senior Project Manager

How you'll make an impactThe Senior Project Manager will lead high-impact initiatives, driving strategic projects that enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and implement innovative solutions. This role encompasses all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Additionally, the individual will act as a business analyst when needed, bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
The ideal candidate will collaborate across all disciplines within the Accounting, IT teams, Operations teams, and upper management to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities while maintaining a focus on delivering results.
Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end project management for transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Business Analysis
- Act as a business analyst when required, gathering and analyzing requirements to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify pain points, define objectives, and recommend process improvements.
- Translate business requirements into actionable plans and technical specifications for implementation.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate and implement automation tools and AI solutions to modernize accounting operations.
- Partner with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions into existing workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with Accounting disciplines, IT teams, Operations teams, and upper management to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions to address challenges and drive consensus.
Risk Management & Reporting
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges.
- Provide regular project updates, including progress, risks, mitigation plans, and key milestones, to stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure transparency and accountability through detailed reporting and readouts.
Change Management
- Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and technologies.
- Develop training materials and provide support to teams during transitions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and 10 years of insurance brokerage accounting leadership experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of direct project management leadership.
- 10% - 35% travel required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in project management, transformation, or process improvement roles, with exposure to accounting or finance operations.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional projects and implementing technology-driven solutions.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, and systems.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act as a business analyst when needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello) and familiarity with accounting software.
- Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., RPA) and AI technologies relevant to accounting and finance.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and navigate ambiguity effectively.
Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement certifications are a plus.

Compensation and benefitsWe offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
