Remote Surgical Medical Coder

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5x8 shifts (set schedules available)

Position Overview

We are seeking an Expert-Level Surgical Medical Coder to join a growing healthcare team. This role involves coding surgical medical records accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with established standards and guidelines. You will work closely with clinical and billing departments to maintain data integrity and support revenue cycle management.

• Review operative reports and physician documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.
• Ensure coding compliance and maximize charge capture.
• Act as liaison between clinical and billing teams.
• Maintain accuracy and timeliness of patient medical records.
• Meet productivity and QA standards (must pass QA within one month).
• Attend coding seminars and participate in educational sessions as required.

Required Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED.
• CPC or CCS-P certification (required).
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.
• 2+ years coding general surgery professional services.
• Experience with Profee (professional fee) coding and Epic.
• Minimum 3 years in surgical coding or physician practice environment.
• Must have own equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
