Salary:

Minimum: $49,151 annually
Maximum: $82,868 annually

Engineer Program: $48.08 per pay period upon successful completion
Specialty Pay:
Operational Level: $29 per pay period
Technical Level: $29 per pay period
Paid Time Off:

24 hours per month for employees with 0-10 years of service
Five 24-hour Kelly days annually for employees with less than three years of service

Job Requirements:

Age: 18 or older
Citizenship: U.S.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Driver's License: Must have a valid Florida Driver's License upon hire
Certifications Required:
Florida State Firefighters Minimum Standards Certificate
Florida Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
Current CPR Certification
Essential Duties:

Respond to fire alarms and emergency medical calls
Suppress and extinguish fires using proper procedures and equipment
Rescue victims from hazardous conditions
Administer first aid and perform CPR
Assist paramedics with advanced medical treatments
Operate and maintain fire department vehicles and equipment
Conduct routine maintenance of station facilities and gear
Participate in public education and community outreach programs
Attend continuing education for firefighting and medical skills
Job Description:
Under direction, the Firefighter/EMT is responsible for fire prevention, suppression, and providing skilled emergency medical services. Work involves responding to emergency situations and taking action to minimize injury, loss of life, or property damage. Duties are performed within the framework of established rules and procedures but require judgment and initiative during emergencies.

Physical Requirements:

Emergency tasks may require running, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects or persons weighing 20-150 pounds
Must wear protective gear (up to 60 pounds) and work in high-temperature and potentially toxic conditions
Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of fire rescue and EMT practices, laws, and policies
Ability to administer first aid and handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proficiency with computers and record-keeping
Ability to operate fire rescue vehicles and equipment safely
