Sr. Associate Counsel (Remote)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by defending lawsuits in New York courts. Your work will involve crucial legal research, and collaborating closely with the Claims Department to provide valuable insights on legal matters. Accountabilities

  • Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
  • Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
  • Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable.

Requirements

  • 2 to 6+ years of experience in litigation, specifically in insurance defense and/or personal injury (REQUIRED).
  • Juris Doctor degree (REQUIRED).
  • Admission to the New York Bar (REQUIRED).
  • Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Strong writing skills for professional documentation.
  • Capacity to follow complex instructions and resolve conflicts.
  • Effective organization and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Adaptability to learn and apply extensive technical information.
