SPECIAL NOTES:
This is an internal agency employment opportunity for current employees, including OPS, of the Department of Financial Services, the Office of Financial Regulation, and the Office of Insurance Regulation.
Four (4) years of professional adjusting experience is preferred . A postsecondary degree from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
Requirements:
- Four (4) years of experience in insurance field.
- Three (3) years of experience working in a management or supervisory positions.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional preferences:
- Currently hold or previously held a Florida Adjuster License.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes regarding insurance claims.
- Experience in participating in mediations on liability claims.
- Experience in training other adjusters.
- Experience in adjusting liability claims.
- Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
The salary range for this position will be filled at $75,000.00 - $77,250.00, based on experience.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
The work hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of management and supervision.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Ability to manage a casualty insurance program.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.

- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to a casualty insurance program.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Responsible for the overall supervision of all claims and claims activity. This includes the supervising and direction of staff (Risk Management Program Specialists and Administrative Support) assigned to this Region, and the defense attorneys and contract adjusters performing services in this Unit, in the evaluation and disposition of case files. Provides training and motivation of staff and exercises control over the reserving and settlement of complicated technical and involved claims. Keeps staff, defense attorneys and contract adjusters abreast of current procedures, policies, regulations, legislation, and pertinent case law.
