Schedule Requirements:

• This is a part-time position with a primary schedule of Fridays and Saturdays .
• Candidates must be available to work these days consistently.
• Additional availability to support coverage for PTO and call-outs is expected, based on health center needs.
• Team members are also expected to support our St. Petersburg health center as needed to ensure appropriate coverage, particularly during staff absences. Flexibility to work across both locations is required as part of this role.

Snapshot of key accountabilities of the Ultrasound Technician:

• Perform ultrasound imaging for pregnancy dating, identification of the presence or absence of pregnancy, cardiac activity, and fetal number.
• Provide ultrasound guidance for procedures under the direction of the provider.
• Educate patients about the ultrasound procedure, its purpose, and limitations, ensuring a compassionate and supportive experience.
• Accurately document findings in the electronic health record (EHR) while maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards.
• Properly clean, maintain, and ensure the optimal functioning of ultrasound equipment in accordance with Planned Parenthood protocols.
• Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness, supplies, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with health center staff to support efficient patient flow and quality care delivery.

Experience/Education of the Ultrasound Technician:

• Completion of an accredited ultrasound program required.
• Ultrasound Certification/Licensure is not required but is considered a plus.
• Candidates who obtain certification/licensure after hire will not receive an automatic pay increase tied to licensure.
• Minimum of one (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Medical care and reproductive rights experience helpful.
• Must have a strong understanding of and personal commitment to reproductive rights and the goals and responsibilities of Planned Parenthood.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and sound decision-making skills.
• Must have a commitment to efficiency and quality.
• Must be comfortable discussing sexuality, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy options.
• Ability to recognize and function appropriately in sensitive situations.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Hourly compensation range for Ultrasound Technician: Starting at $28.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and local market conditions.
