The Food Runner plays a vital support role within the front-of-house team, ensuring the prompt and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to guests. This position requires speed, teamwork, and attention to detail. Food Runners are expected to deliver every plate with pride and contribute to a service experience that reflects our authentic Mexican hospitality and our “Culture of Yes.” You are an extension of the kitchen and an essential part of delivering the brand promise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver food from the kitchen to the appropriate tables promptly and correctly.
- Ensure each dish is presented to guests as intended by the chef and confirm all modifications are accurate.
- Communicate any kitchen delays or issues to the serving team to ensure smooth coordination.
- Assist servers with clearing and resetting tables between guests to support efficient turn times.
- Maintain the cleanliness of service areas, kitchen pass, and side stations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Embody and promote our commitment to teamwork, celebration, and cultural hospitality.
- Support special events and brand activations with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support restaurant operations and service excellence.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry multiple plates or heavy trays.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a proactive, helpful approach to service.
- No prior experience required, but restaurant or food service experience is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the team and service culture.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
Ability to lift and carry trays or multiple plates weighing up to 25 pounds
Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks
Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment with exposure to heat, noise, and crowded conditions
Ability to communicate clearly with team members and guests in a dynamic setting
