POSITION SUMMARY

Ensures and supports proper cleaning and sanitation of all areas of the facility and equipment. Conducts all aspects of job duties in a safe and responsible manner. Complete associated documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

COMPENSATION: $15.00 - $17.00 hourly

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs sanitation-related activities including performing preventative building maintenance and other various warehouse equipment (i.e., floor scrubber, power washer) and performs various duties (i.e., wiping down surfaces, rack cleaning, etc.) on an as-needed basis to ensure facility cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility as necessary.
• Use of effective cleaning practices on equipment.
• Assists in transporting equipment and cleaning/sanitation materials and supplies with forklifts or other devices. Lifts/moves hoses, equipment, and chemical containers.
• Completes associated documentation in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
• Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
• Must possess a working knowledge of Food Safety, Food Quality, and Audits.
• Assist management with additional tasks as necessary.

Requirements:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• One year of relevant work experience in food safety in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• High school Diploma
• Knowledge of food and health regulatory standards
• Food safety audit concepts and housekeeping techniques
• Ability to work in a freezer/cooler environment.
• Capable of following directions and communicating effectively.
• Skills in operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, coolers, freezers, electronic scales, etc.
• Forklift Certification and Material Handling Equipment.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks.
• Strong work ethic with the tenacity to work under extreme pressure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Hours of Operation: Although organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This position schedule is from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and it may work closer to 45 - 50 hours per week, especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. After-hours business work is required occasionally throughout the year.
• Environment: This position works in a warehouse setting with long periods of standing, talking, and/or visual concentration, and requires the highest levels of safety standards. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hand and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear, and smell.
• Travel: No regular travel with this position.
• OSHA Standards : Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
