About the Role:
As a Pastry Cook with experience serving the Lake Buena Vista and Orlando areas, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-quality baked goods and desserts that delight guests and enhance their dining experience. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the reputation of our establishment within the accommodation and food services industry by consistently delivering exceptional pastries that meet our standards of taste, presentation, and freshness. You will collaborate closely with kitchen staff and management to develop new recipes, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. This role requires a balance of creativity and precision, as you will be responsible for both the artistic and technical aspects of pastry preparation. Ultimately, your work will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our culinary offerings in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert presentation.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required in the hospitality industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or pastry certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training or certification in pastry arts from an accredited institution.
- Experience working in a high-volume accommodation or food service setting.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to prepare gluten-free, vegan, or allergen-friendly pastries.
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Develop and test new pastry recipes to keep the menu innovative and appealing to guests.
- Manage inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to coordinate pastry production with overall meal service timing.
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff to uphold quality and consistency in all baked products.
- Monitor and control food costs while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
