Emergency Veterinary Technician, FCVS

First Coast Veterinary Specialists & Emergency located in Jacksonville Beach, FL is searching for a Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Service !

Compensation: $23 - $25/hr, based on experience and applicable licensure

Schedule: Full-time, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts

Evening and Overnight Shifts available. Weekends required.

About you: You are an experienced Veterinary Technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care . You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people that share that same value. You can adapt to the individual needs of each patient, are eager to continue enhancing your skill set, and truly want to make a difference .

Emergency Technician duties include, but are not limited to:

• Triaging emergencies, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, and nursing care of hospitalized patients
• Performing in-house laboratory or diagnostic tests
• Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and assisting with emergency and/or surgical procedures

The Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum 2 years of previous Veterinary experience required, preferably in Emergency Medicine. LVT or CVT prioritized but not required.
• Ability to Triage and Assess patients, and respond accordingly while critically thinking and maintaining a calm demeanor in stressful situations
• Flexibility to work in different areas of the hospital (Cross Training)
• Dependable, Knowledgeable, Experienced, Detail Oriented
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
