Dietary Assistant I

Job Notes:

• Locations: West Palm: 5300 East Ave - Boca Care 1531 West Palmetto Park Road 
• Shifts - 6:30 AM–3:00 PM - 10:30 AM–7:00 PM - 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
• This is an all‑around, highly flexible Dietary Assistant role supporting both Boca Care and West Palm. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who stays in motion, adapts quickly, and is comfortable with an unpredictable day‑to‑day workload. The role requires floating to different parts of the kitchen as needed and checking in with the Chef at the start of each shift and throughout the day for task assignments.
• Contract to hire position 

Job Summary:
Responsible for organizing, preparing, cooking, and serving all food and meals for patients. Works directly with hospice patients and their families within the scope of dietary services. Acts as part of a team unit and is cross trained to cover stewarding and cashiering responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:
-Keeps diet orders organized and up to date.
-Assess new patients admits for likes and dislikes.
-Distributes menus and assists with completion. Ensures correctness of meal trays delivered to patients.
-Provides outstanding customer service to patients, families, and staff.
-Treats patients with dignity and respect.
-Acts appropriately during interactions with patients and families, practices compassion and empathy within the scope of dietary services.
-Prepares, cooks, and serves all foods and desserts for patients with high standards of quality. Ensures patient preferences and requests are fulfilled.
-Ensure nutrition rooms are stocked appropriately.
-Maintain accurate patient records and schedule appointments.
-Abides by and upholds all internal and external food safety standards established by the Department of Health, AHCA, Joint Commission, and Trustbridge.
-Maintains compliance with department, company, state, and federal policies and regulations.
-Shows professionalism, treating others with dignity and respect.
-Avoid unnecessary conflict and provides a positive and optimistic attitude.
-Supports Vision, Mission and Values.
-Shows effective Communication.
-Limits unplanned absences.
-Performs other duties as required and conforms with and abides by all policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:
-Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
-Works well with others and is flexible.
-Available for on-call coverage.
-Willing to work with hospice patients.
-Ability to provide outstanding face to face customer service.
