Location: Lakeland, FL Transportation Billing Supervisor The Transportation Billing Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the transportation billing team to achieve a variety of goals including: accurate timely invoicing to the customer, collections support, assist in resolving payment discrepancies, and be the primary link between transportation billing team and transportation operations. The Transportation Billing Supervisor is responsible for meeting financial closing deadlines to ensure accurate AP/AR results on monthly P&Ls. Responsibilities - Leads the transportation billing team to complete functions as needed to meet department's weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Manage month-end processing by delivering revenue and expense accrual reports for all transportation cost centers, generating inter-company invoices, completing cross-company reports and adjustments, and specific month end invoicing such as yard moves, and ad hoc reporting as requested from operations. (Additional hours may be necessary)
- Must have the ability to become a super user for all billing functions within transportation software (Truckmate, Mercurygate, EBE, Anydoc, Softeon) and drive efficiencies through systemic improvements.
- Understands and interprets customer requirements, develops, and maintains SOPs, and provides appropriate training, guidelines to team.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external support partners, customers, carriers, accounting department, and other associates from multiple departments that support transportation.
- Investigate and coordinate with transportation support teams to resolve EDI, imaging, invoice transmission errors.
- Research and resolve aging and unapplied cash applications for transportation customers as directed by the Program Manager.
- Promote constant and measurable improvement; teach and facilitate SCLS' culture of continuous improvement.
- Supervise the billing coordinators to include responsibility for Kronos, PTO and time off, performance reviews and staff development. This includes their day-to-day completion of assigned tasks.
Qualifications Education and Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- At least 2 years of leadership experience required, ideally in the Transportation industry
- Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
- 3-5 years billing/AR/AP/accounting experience preferred
- 3-5 years supervisory/leadership experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Acute attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to become proficient in internet, web-based customer and carrier specific software applications.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Delegation skills, staff development aptitude and good leadership skills
