Position SummaryWe are seeking a high-caliber Process Engineering Manager to lead and optimize our manufacturing processes with a focus on assembly line design, lean efficiency, and operator-centric improvements. This role requires deep expertise in standard work development, takt time analysis, and the integration of point-of-use material replenishment systems. The ideal candidate brings experience from operationally disciplined, “academy” companies known for structured kaizen systems and frontline engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of assembly lines, focusing on flow, takt time adherence, operator balance, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Develop and implement standard work for all key manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with lean principles and safety standards.
- Drive the integration of point-of-use material replenishment systems in collaboration with Supply Chain and Materials teams to improve line efficiency and reduce waste.
- Facilitate structured kaizen events to address process inefficiencies, reduce lead time, and improve quality and labor productivity.
- Conduct operator loading studies , cycle time and takt time analysis to optimize resource utilization and minimize bottlenecks.
- Work cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure manufacturability and design-for-assembly.
- Develop visual management systems and process documentation to support operator training, adherence, and problem-solving.
- Coach and mentor a team of engineers and technicians; build a culture of rigorous problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all process changes meet safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in process or manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role .
- Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing , with hands-on experience deploying standard work, takt time, visual controls, and point-of-use systems .
- Deep familiarity with structured kaizen methodology and problem-solving tools (A3, 8D, DMAIC).
- Direct experience with assembly line layout design , ideally in a high-mix, low-volume or configurable product environment.
- Background in “academy” companies (e.g., Danaher, Toyota, Crane Co., Honeywell, etc.) with formal business systems and talent development.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive change at the frontline level.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification a plus.
- Proficiency with simulation tools, time studies, AutoCAD/Visio for layout planning.
- Experience with ERP/MES integration into shop floor operations.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence across departments and levels.
