Job Title: University Cashier Assistant - 994861 Location: Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Florida Work Type: Full Time with Full Benefits Job Category: Non-Exempt Hiring Range: $16.92 per hour/$33,000.00 annually Pay Basis:

Hourly

Subject to Grant Funding?: No Essential Job Functions: 1. Reviews and verifies accuracy of checks, and prepares cash/check transmittals for daily deposits to ensure accuracy of deposits for the University. 2. Posts student payments in Banner to ensure timely and accurate posting to student accounts. 3. Receives, reviews, and distributes to appropriate departments to ensure mail is processed in a timely and accurate manner. 4. Prepares checks requests and processes student and third party refunds to ensure correct and timely refunds. 5. Maintains the cashier deposit files to ensure information is available for audits and to comply with federal regulations. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Marginal Job Functions: Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to accurately handle numbers (account reconciliations), to compute numbers mathematically, and to transcribe numbers correctly. Strong 10-key skills. 2. Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; data entry skills; Internet research abilities. 3. Good verbal and written communication skills. 4. Ability to prioritize work in order to complete multiple tasks within time deadlines. 5. Good customer service skills. 6. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy. 7. Proactive, punctual, and reliable. 8. Ability to work independently. 9. Good organizational and I time management skills. 10. Good conflict resolution skills. 11. Good time management skills. 12. Ability to maintain confidential information. 13. May need to work evenings and weekends, if necessary. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Ability to communicate effectively with others. 2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels. 3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. 4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards. One (1) year of office experience in a cashiering, bookkeeping, or related finance field. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in cashiering, bookkeeping, or related finance field, preferably in cashiering. 2. Experience working in an academic institution, preferably in higher education. 3. Experience in Banner and other NSU software systems. Is this a safety sensitive position?
