Drafting Coordinator / Checker

We are looking for a Drafting Coordinator / Checker who is skilled in reviewing plans and answering detailing-related questions. This role requires strong attention to detail and time management. This position would work from our Bradenton office location. We are looking for an experienced individual who has great communication and problem-solving skills.

Skills and Requirements

• Attend project kickoff and field turnover meetings.
• Participate in weekly meetings with vendors, subcontractors, and superintendents.
• Distribute field-use shop drawings
• Download drawings from Dropbox.
• Upload field-use documents to PlanGrid
• Submit and track RFIs between vendors and the design team.
• Review, submit, and track submittals between GC, vendors, subcontractors, and the design team.
• Detail miscellaneous trims and field fixes as needed.
• Develop and maintain detailing standards.
• Receive and respond to questions from the field crew, Project Manager, and site superintendents regarding drawings, details, etc.
• Stay up to date with current trends in the industry as it pertains to materials, construction methods, technology, etc.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of drafting experience in the Construction industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD
• College degree or detailing experience with structural steel detailing
• Knowledge of structural steel, cold-formed, IMP panels, and standing seam roofs preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to work with a team under pressure and on tight schedules
