Paralegal Civil Defense Litigation
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal Civil Defense Litigation professional for a direct hire opportunity in Orlando, FL. This role supports attorneys in a busy civil defense litigation practice handling complex and fast-moving matters involving trucking litigation, premises liability, personal injury, and products liability. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented litigation paralegal who enjoys meaningful case involvement, trial preparation, discovery support, and collaboration with attorneys on case strategy. Key Responsibilities - Manage and maintain litigation case files, including pleadings, discovery, correspondence, medical records, and key case documents.- Draft, review, and assist with discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
- Review, summarize, and analyze medical records, including preparation of chronologies, narrative summaries, and deposition summaries.
- Coordinate deadlines, hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial preparation activities with attorneys and legal team members.
- Prepare trial materials, exhibits, witness lists, trial notebooks, demonstrative presentations, and mediation support materials.
- Track billable time accurately in accordance with firm and client requirements. Compensation and Benefits - Pay: $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

- Work Arrangement: Hybrid eligible after 6 months based on performance.
- Hybrid Schedule: Typically includes 2 remote days per week with a mandatory in-office Wednesday.
- After performance review, hybrid schedule may adjust to 1 remote day as needed. Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support civil defense litigation matters involving trucking litigation, premises liability, personal injury, and products liability.- Manage discovery, medical record review, case organization, deposition support, mediation preparation, and trial preparation.
- Coordinate litigation deadlines, case materials, exhibits, witnesses, and attorney support needs.
- Prepare accurate summaries, chronologies, presentations, and litigation support documents. - 5+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
- Civil defense litigation experience is strongly preferred.
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery processes, pleadings, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records, preparing chronologies, and organizing case evidence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to handle occasional extended hours, strict deadlines, and travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience supporting trucking litigation, premises liability, personal injury defense, or products liability matters.
- Experience preparing trial notebooks, exhibit binders, mediation materials, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Strong billable timekeeping experience in a law firm or civil litigation environment.
