Accounts Payable Accountant

About Us

We’re a rapidly growing propane fuel supplier serving customers across Canada and the U.S.
As we expand, we’re looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance
team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys
problem-solving, and takes pride in keeping financial operations accurate and organized.

What You’ll Do

Vendor & Invoice Management

• Enter, code, and process invoices, payments, and credits in NetSuite.


• Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, and proper GL/department coding.


• Maintain vendor files, set up new accounts, and confirm EFT/remittance details.


• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally.

Payments & Reconciliations

• Prepare and issue EFTs, wires, and check payments within deadlines.


• Reconcile vendor statements, AP subledger to GL.


• Track and resolve missing payments, unapplied credits, and employee reimbursements.


• Support AP aging reports, accruals, and month-end close processes.
  

Collaboration & Process Improvements

• Work with branches and operations to ensure data accuracy and timely submissions.


• Create and maintain purchase orders, payment templates, and approval workflows.


• Organize and maintain AP records for year-end readiness.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.


• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite is an asset).


• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (formulas, reconciliations, pivot tables).


• Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.


• Clear communication skills to work effectively with vendors and colleagues.


• Comfort managing multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
