Halifax Veterinary Center is seeking a skilled Lead Veterinary Technician to join our growing, team-oriented hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact-both on patient care and team development-within a supportive and collaborative environment.


Our hospital is proudly led by our new Medical Director, Dr. Gabriel Abreu , and we are continuing to grow! With two new doctors joining our team this summer, we are expanding and looking for additional team members who are passionate about veterinary medicine and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


About the Role


As our Lead Veterinary Technician , you will play a key role in guiding and supporting our technical team while remaining hands-on in patient care.

  • Delegate tasks to support efficient workflow and exceptional patient care
  • Monitor daily hospital operations and uphold safety protocols
  • Train, mentor, and support Veterinary Technicians and Assistants
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture
  • Work alongside the team to manage surgical and exam caseloads
  • Lead by example while supporting high-quality medicine every day

Schedule


This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule :

  • Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Future: Rotating Saturdays (with a weekday off)

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

  • Compensation: $21-25 per hour, for each hour worked*
  • Bonus package: $500-$2,000 based on experience and licensure
  • CE allowance: Up to $1,000 annually based on licensure

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting
  • Active Florida Veterinary Technician certification preferred
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing team members
  • Highly organized with excellent multitasking and time management abilities
  • Dedicated to high-quality medicine and patient care
  • Anesthesia induction and monitoring
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
  • IV catheter placement and IV/IM injections
  • Cystocentesis
  • Microscopic evaluation
