General Job Description The Summer Site Coordinator is a key member of the summer Administrative Team and helps ensure the smooth and safe operations of Summer Institute at their assigned site.
Job Responsibilities
- Train, coordinate, and oversee volunteers
- Organize schedules
- Create rosters
- Track attendance
- Track community service hours
- Prepare service letters
- Supervise Summer Food Service Program and coordinate Scholar and staff meals and snacks
- Attend Food Service Training
- Plan and procure snacks for program
- Work with lunch sponsor/vendor to ensure timely prep and service delivery, and ensure procedures and reporting requirements are fulfilled
- Arrange for non-sponsor food needs, including special staff lunches and dinners
- Oversee the general cleanliness of campus
- Coordinate and oversee general office administration, including answering phones and taking messages, making copies, checking mail, filing, and data entry
- Work closely with Site Director to ensure all supplies needed are provided to the site faculty in a timely manner
- Keep accurate inventory of program/office supplies
- Dispense and track all office supplies, classroom supplies, art supplies, and audio-visual equipment
- Assist with special Teaching Fellow needs (video, music, etc)
- Oversee and manage early drop off and late pick up
- Organize and document donated items
- Help execute special events as needed by handling materials and volunteer coordination
Qualifications
- Strong academic record; minimum of two years of college
- Two or more years of relevant experience
- Prior experience with leadership, management, people management, or leading teams
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to initiate and follow through on ideas and projects
- Interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively in many different environments
- Excellent writing, communication, and computer skills (good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word)
Schedule and Compensation
Dates and Times:
Prior to Summer Program: A few hours a week in May, as needed
Required Staff Training: May 10 & 17, 2026, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Start Date: June 6, 2026
Teaching Fellow Orientation: June 6-June 12, 2026, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Summer Program: June 15-July 24, 2026, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. may start earlier depending on site schedule
Evaluation Week: July 27–July 31, 2026, as needed
Compensation:
$4,250 stipend (paid over three pay periods)
