Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This part-time virtual position is designed for a dedicated Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to support an elementary school student remotely. The role involves working one-on-one with a 3rd-grade student, providing specialized instruction and support tailored to their unique learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to a 3rd grade student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Develop and implement learning strategies and acmodations specific to the students munication and educational needs.
- Collaborate with the students educational team to monitor progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Attend virtual meetings and maintain accurate records of session plans and student progress.
- Utilize virtual teaching platforms effectively to engage the student in meaningful learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Certification and experience in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Strong understanding of munication methods such as sign language and use of assistive technology.
- Experience with virtual teaching environments and ability to adapt to online instructional methods.
- Excellent munication and organizational skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a strong mitment to student success.
Location: Virtual position supporting a student located in Florida.
This contract runs from the start date ASAP through May 21st, 2026, requiring 5 hours weekly (1 hour per day, Monday through Friday).
