Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time position is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students to serve a diverse K-12 student population in Sumter County, located in Brooksville, FL. This contract role will span the entire school year, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a mixed-age educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across K-12 grade levels
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, and support staff to ensure prehensive services
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in team meetings and municate effectively with parents and specialists
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and munication methods, including sign language
- Ability to manage a caseload of mixed ages and varying needs
- Excellent collaboration and munication skills
This role requires a mitment of 37.5 hours per week, serving a varied student population. Details regarding the specific caseload will be provided during the interview process.
