Our Global Technology Services Team

Technology at White & Case plays a key role in enabling our lawyers to practice law around the world.

Our team comprises of three functions: Business Services – who maintain, develop and support our enterprise systems, Operations – who design, build and support our communications and data centre operations, and Support Services – who provide desktop, meeting and training support in the Firm’s offices. Together we support our lawyers with leading edge technology and systems to deliver elite legal and best-in-class client service.

Globally minded, our team covers a range of technical disciplines and business skill sets. This encompasses business analysts, data architects, application developers and engineering staff covering a range of technologies that include virtualization, cloud, networking, storage, collaboration services and security. We deploy the latest technology and hardware within our state-of-the-art offices. Our technical support staff support and train our people in the latest hardware and operating systems, remote working capability and mobile devices. Our Shared Services centers provide Service Desk and Operation Centers that providing support and monitoring of Firm systems 24 x 7.

Working closely with our business services colleagues in support of the Firm’s Finance, HR, Marketing and Knowledge Information Technology systems, Global Technology Services is at the heart of the Firm’s global operations.

Position Summary

As part of our Technology Applications Development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining applications with Microsoft’s AI toolset, including Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services, Power Platform, and full custom development in the M365 ecosystem along with React, and Node.js. Your work will contribute directly to enhancing business process efficiency within the Firm.

You will also collaborate with the Innovation Team and data scientists to explore and implement AI-driven solutions that push the boundaries of legal technology. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, a passion for software development, and a keen interest in AI research and development.

You will work across various projects, applying a mix of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills. You will be proactive in identifying areas for improvement, innovating new solutions, and driving projects forward in an agile environment.

Supporting the firm’s needs, you will develop a good understanding of how the firm operates. You will also be an integral part of our focus on delivering the Firm’s vision of profitable growth and will champion our internal culture. Duties and Accountabilities1

  • Develop, integrate, and maintain AI-powered applications using Microsoft AI and cloud technologies (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, Machine Learning, etc.).
  • Leverage Azure AI services to implement NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics solutions.
  • Build and integrate AI-driven solutions into business processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop applications within Azure Foundry, optimizing them for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation Team and data scientists to explore R&D initiatives related to AI and automation.
  • Implement Copilot and Copilot Studio solutions to streamline workflows and automate tasks.
  • Work with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Virtual Agents) to create intelligent workflow automation.
  • Participate in full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Develop custom solutions using JavaScript, React, typescript, Python and the Graph API.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-native applications, ensuring optimal security, scalability, and compliance.
  • Follow DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated testing.
  • Monitor and maintain existing applications, ensuring they remain performant, secure, and up to date.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement bug fixes proactively.
  • Stay informed of the latest Microsoft and AI advancements, incorporating new technologies where applicable.
  • Maintain the practice of continuous improvement and education by attending seminars, etc., and keeping current on new leadership skills.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing related professional publications.
  • Stay in tune with the Firm’s growing projects for practical experience.
  • Interact with all levels of staff.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on AI, automation, or cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft AI and cloud platforms, including:
  • Azure AI services (OpenAI, Cognitive Services, Machine Learning, Bot Services)
  • Microsoft Graph API
  • Experience developing in Python, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and integration of AI models into applications.
  • Understanding AI/ML concepts, including NLP, chatbot development, and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
  • Team player who is ambitious and motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and patience working with others.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write concise, accurate and readable technical documentation and reports
  • Successful track record of working in an IT development team
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and ability
