Accounts Payable Specialist
Accounts Payable Specialist
Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a client in the area. This role is responsible for processing checks and electronic payments accurately and on time while supporting the Accounts Payable team with payment scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
$27-$28/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Process urgent checks as needed.
- Follow established schedules for check runs and electronic payments.
- Review payment batches and identify invoices for payment.
- Research and flag invoices requiring correction.
- Process payments according to due dates and approved requests.
- Verify reconciliations and payment amounts before processing.
- Prepare overnight checks and wire transfers for approval.
- Coordinate check distribution and ensure supporting documentation is included.
- Process stop payments for voided checks.
- Maintain check stock and envelope inventory.
- Assist with other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with document management systems is a plus.
