Position Overview:

Foshee Construction is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll processing and related administrative functions for our construction operations.

This role is responsible for processing weekly payroll only, preparing certified payroll for General Contractors (GCs), and assisting with light onboarding of new employees. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.

This position REQUIRES experience with Paylocity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for General Contractors (GCs).
• Assist with light onboarding of new employees (basic paperwork, system entry, and setup).
• Review time records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Process employee changes such as terminations, rate adjustments, and basic payroll updates.
• Maintain payroll reports and supporting documentation for audits and compliance.
• Coordinate with HR and Accounting as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information.
• Utilize Paylocity for payroll processing, reporting, and employee management.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience required.
• MUST have experience using Paylocity.
• Construction industry payroll experience preferred.
• Experience with certified payroll reporting (GC requirements) required or strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data entry skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet weekly deadlines.
• High school diploma required; additional payroll/accounting experience preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Primarily office-based role.
• Prolonged periods working at a computer.
• Occasional interaction with field teams or jobsite personnel as needed.
