Accounts Receivable Manager

We strongly prefer someone to be local to the Tampa office, but will consider strong candidates who live in one of our other regional markets.
Responsibilities
• Oversight of outsourced and internal AR aging, clearinghouse rejections,
and payer denials.
• Identifies root causes and establishes processes and procedures to
improve future clean claim rate and decrease overall denial percentage.
• Identifies problematic AR aging buckets and assigns accounts to their team
for resolution.
• Works with senior leadership in recruiting, onboarding, performance
evaluations, and ongoing training for team members.
• Documents, analyzes, and trends collection activities and communicates
to stakeholders as appropriate.
• Sets internal and external goals, creates work plans to meet those goals,
and reports defined KPIs to internal and external stakeholders.
• Trends AR and Denials issues and communicates process improvements to
Registration, Case Management, Clinical Operations, Legal, or other as
needed.
• Maximizes revenue through detailed review, analysis, and follow-up on all
pertinent accounts receivable, denials, and rejections.
• Prepares reports and data as directed to support departmental goals,
metrics, and KPIs.
• Stays abreast of all federal, state, and payer guidelines and communicates
to the AR team and other stakeholders as needed.
• Communicates and facilitates special projects and requests as needed.
• Develops quality control program and provides continuous feedback to
employees and senior leadership.
• Participates in staff meetings and assigned continuing education, and
recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual
improvement in efficiency of the department and services performed.
• Maintains a strict level of confidentiality for all company, departmental,
and healthcare provider information.

(PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years of Accounts Receivable experience in a healthcare
organization.
• 3+ years leading and managing a team.
• Clear understanding of Accounts Receivable workflows and processes.
• Preferred experience working with eClinicalWorks.
• Strong experience working in Excel.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing/changing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, as well as
patients, clinics, and staff.
• Ability to recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to
influence continuous improvements in department’s efficiency.
• Ability to conduct root cause analyses to identify areas where the process
may not be working effectively or efficiently. Working with the Director
and Sr. Director of Revenue Cycle to facilitate and manage process
improvement efforts in the entities to drive improvement in the overall
revenue cycle process.
• Ability to create and approve training manuals, policies and procedures,
and job aids for Revenue Cycle areas.
• Dependable; able to meet reliable attendance and punctuality standards.
