Martial Arts School Front Desk Manager and Customer Relations Specialist

We are looking for an outgoing and experienced front desk and customer relationship professional, with sales experience or willingness to be trained in sales and marketing to grow the schools student body. The Front Desk Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of our school by managing the front desk, customer relationship management database, student enrollment, marketing and outreach, student consultations, maintaining cleanliness and provides support to our instructor team during all class times.

This person should be passionate about empowering people and changing lives in our community through Gracie jiu-jitsu by supporting our school and its staff with a can-do attitude. Experience and training in Gracie Jiu Jitsu will lead to advancement and promotions. At a minimum you should have a strong interest in physical fitness or martial arts self-defense. We offer you free training in Gracie Ju-jitsu when time allows.

This role also works with children and parents for our children's programs so you should be comfortable and confident being around kids.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Front Desk Reception which includes receiving new and established students, processing memberships, maintaining organization and opening and closing the school.
  • Office and Dojo Management, including handling CRM, payroll systems, maintaining supplies and cleaning.
  • New Student Consultations and Processing. Sales skills preferred.
  • Program Scheduling, including creating and publishing online monthly calendars and schedules
  • Basic Social Media marketing using Facebook and Instagram and also creating digital flyers
  • Sales support to promote our programs and enroll new students (training offered)

Qualifications and Skill Sets

  • Good Technical Ability to use and manage our software systems, update the website and use social media (training provided but you must be willing and able to learn).
  • Proven Experience in Customer Service and Office Management where you can demonstrate your organization and administrative abilities.
  • Team player who can work with instructors and other staff to create a welcoming and safe environment for students
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent sales skills or willingness to learn and immediately apply techniques taught to close the potential student.
  • Multitasking and being able to help more than one person at a time.
  • Time management skills - Know when to do certain tasks and know how to best utilize your time.
  • Must be able to handle guest complaints and problem solve to keep our students happy.
  • Must be able to collect overdue payments. Must be able to speak to students that are behind in payments and assist them in resolving any payment issues.
  • Must maintain a clean environment for our students and staff.
  • Take inventory and assist in placing orders
  • Learn jiu jitsu terminology and the Gracie University System. Learn and explain how our program works, what differentiates us from other jiu jitsu programs and the benefits of enrolling in a Gracie University Certified Training Center.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts.
  • Plan events that Gracie Martial Arts Tampa may host.
  • Must be able to indepently problem solve.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and car required. Residence within 10 miles of Gracie Martial Arts Tampa Preferred
  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Fluent in English (bi-lingual Spanish-English a plus)
  • Strong interested and/or experience in physical fitness, martial arts and self-defense
  • Willingness to train in Gracie Ju-Jitsu to gain first hand experience of our product

Required Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position starting at 20-25 hours per week. There is potential to increase up to 39 hours a week after the 90 day probationary period.

Required Minimum Schedule to cover our core classes Monday: 5:45 am-7:15 am

5:45pm - 8:00 pm

Tuesday and Thursday:

6:45 am - 8:15 am

3:45pm - 8:00pm

Wednesday:

5:45 am -7:15 am

5:45 pm- 7:00 pm

Saturday: 7:45am-1:30pm

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 39 per week
