Construction Estimator - Metal Fabrication Construction - Base Salary to 85k/year - West Palm Beach, FL

• AllSearch Recruiting is seeking a Construction Estimator for a commercial metal fabrication and construction organization, to support projects involving structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and aluminum fabrication across commercial construction projects throughout Florida.
• The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, and developing competitive bid proposals for fabricated metal systems. This role works closely with project managers, detailing teams, and fabrication shops to support successful project execution from bid through handoff.

Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings for metal fabrication projects (structural steel, miscellaneous metals, aluminum systems)
• Analyze labor, material, fabrication, and installation costs for shop and field operations
• Develop detailed cost estimates including raw materials, fabrication, coatings/finishes, and installation
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to ensure complete scope coverage
• Evaluate project requirements including logistics, sequencing, and field conditions
• Prepare competitive bid proposals and identify value engineering opportunities
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing where applicable
• Create itemized cost breakdowns across all phases of fabrication and installation
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost data for future bids
• Collaborate with project managers, detailers, and fabrication teams during preconstruction
• Build relationships with general contractors, developers, architects, and engineers
• Identify risks related to pricing, fabrication complexity, scheduling, and installation challenges

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
• Experience performing takeoffs and estimating
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel for takeoffs and cost analysis
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings
• Experience preparing detailed, client-facing bid proposals
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and installation methods
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines
  
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify scope gaps and inconsistencies
  

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 75k - 85k/year range
• Full-time, onsite role
• Standard schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
