Manual Machinsit - 1st Shift

We are looking for a Seasoned Machinist who thrives at the intersection of manual craftsmanship and CNC technology. This isn’t just a "button-pusher" role—we need a technical powerhouse capable of taking a complex customer drawing from concept to finished part. Whether you’re dialing in a ProtoTrak SMX, pushing an SL20 HAAS to its limit, or designing custom jigs for a unique setup, you take pride in the "shop math" and mechanical grit it takes to build things right. If you have 5+ years of hands-on experience, your own tools, and a "get-it-done" attitude, we have a spindle waiting for you.

salary: $52,000 - $72,800 per year

Responsibilities

To be considered for this position, candidates must accurately and efficiently operate equipment including Milling machines, engine lathes, surface grinders, band saws, ProtoTrak SMX hybrid CNC/manual mills, and SL20 HAAS CNC Lathes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production: Review customer drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations. Design and build fixtures/jigs for unique setups.

• Programming & Setup: Adjust offsets and programs to maintain strict tolerances; work from shop prints and travelers.

• Quality Control: Conduct in-process inspections using calipers and micrometers; utilize shop math to verify part accuracy.

• Maintenance: Perform basic equipment upkeep, including light mechanical repairs and monthly coolant maintenance.

• Shop Support: Assist with deburring, tapping, and assembly; maintain accurate digital and physical production records.

• Safety: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on machining experience.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in shop math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry) and reading technical drawings/models.

• Tools: Must own a personal set of Machinist’s tools and be expert with precision measurement tools (calipers/micrometers).

• Manual dexterity and physical stamina are required

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
